We chose Ellie Goulding - Fly as our song choice out of the twelve songs we had to choose from. This was due to the fact we had stronger ideas for the song Fly by Ellie Goulding than any of the others. For this track we were thinking about stop motion. We thought about in the end she could fly up to heaven but not show any graphic detail of how she died. This was one idea as it was using Goodwin's point of matching visuals to the lyrics. We knew that if we did this we'd have to be careful as it needs to be suitable for our target audience being female teenagers mainly, but we would like it to appeal to teenage boys and other age groups. We also thought we could have split screens of one side being in the past, her still being alive and on the other her past away but still happy in heaven or something.
We couldn't really think of any strong narratives for these songs;
- Alexandra Burke - Dangerous
- Cher Lloyd - Love Me For Me
- Ellie Goulding - Fly
- One Night Only - Hide
- Red Hot Chilly Peppers - Bunker Hill
- Wiley - In the bag
- Rihanna - Your Love
- JLS - She's Gone
- - B.P.C
- - Know How
- - Heaven Help
- - Truth Or Dare
However for Cher Llyod we thought about a relationship. In the relationship the boy might not love her for her personality but her looks. This is where we could play around a little with Goodwin's point about voyeurism, as it is another convention in the pop genre. We thought that we could use the split screens well here. This is due to showing one female on one side and a male on the other and showing how they view what is important in relationships to them.
