Half Term Work

At the moment we are still finalizing our star persona, but the ideas we have at the moment are of an innocent girl aged around late teens to early 20s. The girl is shown to be pure and innocent by wearing a cream plain dress. There is an element of mystery in the video that communicates with the audience that the girl may not want to show her face due to it not being what is seen as normal. We currently haven’t decided if there will be anything wrong with her face but if we said there would be a disfigurement for example, the line ‘I would give my life to be, human’ would mean that she doesn’t see herself as human due to this disfigurement and that she would give her life to be seen as normal. She may have had this disfigurement her whole life so for her whole life she has been, in her eyes, not human and maybe when she is walking in the street people turn to her, and look at her disfigured face.

We are going to show continuity between the 3 products by not showing the face of the actress or artist at any point on the digi-pack cover, this then keeps the mystery value that we have shown in the music video. We may include vibrant colours to signify a troubled past that led up to the beach scene, if we decide to make the disfigurement a burn we could put flames singing the outsides of the digi-pack to symbolise the burning of her face which hinders her views on herself being human.

Currently our idea for the digi-pack is a picture of the actress looking out to see with her back to the camera sitting on the sea wall. The idea being to have a bleak picture to show her bleak life and her feelings towards her disfigurement. For the inside of the digi-pack where we would have the song and other information, we could use a dark wood e.g. the wood of a groyne with moss and other sea life stuck to it, to reinforce the music video’s themes and location, we would use a fairly standard font and possibly use white text for maximum visibility.

I’ve had an idea of using an eroded font for the title on the front cover ‘Human’ to symbolise the eroding of the girl with the disfigurement’s heart.
