1st reflection - How we chose Ellie Goulding - Human

How we chose Ellie Goulding - Human

After not being succesful to get the track Fly by Ellie Goulding after our pitch. We have now chosen the track Human by Ellie Goulding. In doing so we have now moved away from stop motion and moved more to a live action, conventional music video.

During some shots in the music video we could do light tracking as this can be really effective.  Maybe trying to recreate a similar effect with the light in Ellie Goulding's US Starry Eyed music video.

One story line we've came up with was quite abstract. When Ellie Goulding sings "Human" we thought of having the actress as a robot that wants to be human.

Another story line we came up with is that either someone is kept in hospital, and lives there for their childhood into adolescence so they don't feel like they've had a "normal" "human" life. We also said we could reverse this idea. If the actress was "human" but became disabled and felt like she is lost and isn't "human" anymore and wants to be. However ethical issues about doing this disabled idea arises.

In Ellie Goulding's music videos she has a lot more close ups then any other artist. She doesn't really follow the pop convention in a music video by leaving out dance routines. We thought we could do something unconventional which was to not show the actress' face at all throughout the music video.
